Royal Caribbean has officially welcomed its newest team member—Skipper, a Golden Retriever puppy serving as the cruise line's latest Chief Dog Officer (CDO) aboard the highly anticipated Legend of the Seas.
As Legend of the Seas begins its inaugural Western Mediterranean season this summer, Skipper is already onboard, greeting guests and becoming the newest ambassador of Royal Caribbean's resident dog program.
A Unique Guest Experience
Royal Caribbean introduced its resident dog program to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for both guests and crew. While Skipper is not a service dog, his role is to provide companionship and help create memorable moments throughout each sailing.
Guests may have opportunities to see Skipper around the ship during scheduled appearances and activities, adding another distinctive touch to the onboard experience.

- Training: Completed professional training at Royal Caribbean's Miami headquarters
- Care: The resident dog program is operated in partnership with the American Humane Society, ensuring dedicated trainers and high standards of animal welfare on board.
Skipper joins Royal Caribbean's growing family of resident dogs, alongside Rover aboard Icon of the Seas and Sailor aboard Star of the Seas.
Sailing the Mediterranean in 2026
During her inaugural summer season, Legend of the Seas is offering 7-night Western Mediterranean itineraries departing from Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy.

Caribbean Debut This Winter
Following its Mediterranean season through late October, Legend of the Seas will reposition across the Atlantic to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where it will begin sailing Caribbean and Bahamas itineraries for the winter season.
